Continued Momentum for the North Avenue Market

North Avenue Market is scheduled for redevelopment!

Located in the Station North Arts District, this highly visible, historic property with over 55,000 square feet was acquired in 2024 by a consortium of local nonprofits, developers, and artists, including Central Baltimore Partnership (CBP) and Twenty-Two Lanes Development (22LD). Now, the first phase of its redevelopment will include historic façade restoration and the revitalization of the first floor to create an environment well suited for tenants ranging from artists, business ventures, nonprofits, and more.

Neighborhood Impact Investment Fund (NIIF) is thrilled to partner with Reinvestment Fund on an $850,000 predevelopment loan to continue the progress. The North Avenue corridor already has development momentum, and the successful redevelopment of North Avenue Market will have ripple effects for the neighborhood.

“For me, investing in Station North has always been about the long game. Projects like North Avenue Market are less about any single development and more about contributing to an ecosystem that creates lasting opportunity for Central Baltimore and its creative class,” shares Michael Haskins who is part of the team rehabilitating North Avenue Market.

This project is a part of CBP’s broader vision to create economic growth and investment in Central Baltimore. NIIF is also grateful to Abell Foundation, the Goldseker Foundation, and the Central Baltimore Future Fund for providing a loan guarantee to make the financing possible.
